Job Title: Oracle ERP Data Architect
Classification: Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Reports to: President
Work Location/Travel: Work is remote or on-site at client location. Percentage of travel to client sites, where the travel occurs, such as locally or in specific countries or states, and whether the travel is overnight, varies.
Job Summary:
The Oracle ERP Data Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and optimizing enterprise data architecture across Oracle Cloud applications, with a primary focus on ERP, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Customer Experience (CX) platforms. This role provides strategic leadership for data modeling, migration, integration, and governance initiatives, ensuring data accuracy, scalability, and alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Oracle Cloud data structures, large-scale data conversion programs, and enterprise integrations, enabling seamless end-to-end business processes across finance, supply chain, customer, and service operations. Experience with Oracle Field Service is a plus.
Essential Functions:
Enterprise Data Architecture
- Design and maintain enterprise-wide data architecture strategies across Oracle ERP, SCM, and CX applications.
- Develop scalable, secure, and efficient data models that support end-to-end business processes.
- Establish architectural standards, data modeling best practices, and design patterns to ensure consistency across the Oracle ecosystem.
Data Migration, Conversion & Transformation
- Lead large-scale data migration and conversion initiatives for Oracle Cloud implementations, upgrades, and acquisitions.
- Define data mapping, transformation, cleansing, and validation strategies between legacy and Oracle Cloud systems.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity throughout the migration lifecycle.
Integration Architecture
- Architect and oversee integrations between Oracle ERP, SCM, CX, HCM, and third-party applications.
- Design data exchange frameworks utilizing Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), APIs, middleware, and ETL technologies.
- Ensure seamless movement of master and transactional data across enterprise platforms.
Data Governance & Quality Management
- Define and implement enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Establish processes for data quality monitoring, stewardship, security, and compliance.
- Develop validation, reconciliation, and auditing procedures to maintain trusted business data.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Solution Design
- Partner with business leaders, functional consultants, project teams, and technical resources to define data requirements and solutions.
- Translate business objectives into scalable data architecture designs that support operational and strategic goals.
- Provide subject matter expertise related to Oracle data models, integrations, and migration strategies.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead data architecture workstreams during implementations and digital transformation initiatives.
- Mentor project teams and provide guidance on data architecture best practices.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and improved data management capabilities.
- Stay current on Oracle Cloud product enhancements and emerging data technologies.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain and pursue continuing education opportunities, such as training and certification exams.
- Participate on internal projects.
- Provide expertise and help to others, as needed, on projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Competency:
- Strong expertise in Oracle ERP, SCM, and CX data models and architecture.
- Experience with enterprise data migration, conversion, and integration.
- Familiarity with Oracle Field Service data structures and integrations is a plus.
- Understanding of end-to-end business processes across Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and Service Operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- May assist with training members of the technical staff.
- May conduct interviews.
- Assigns duties and responsibilities and oversees workflow of project staff.
- May conduct project performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Work Environment:
The work environment is remote or on-site at a client location. While remote, employees are expected to provide office space for themselves with a professional background (including virtual backgrounds) and noise level. A reliable and consistent internet connection is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Bending, sitting lifting, driving.
Position Type and expected hours of work:
- Full time work during Apex IT business hours and, at times, outside of business hours, if required.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data management, with a focus on Oracle ERP applications.
- Proven experience leading large-scale data migration and conversion projects for Oracle ERP environments
