This role offers the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide data models that support analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making.
You will focus heavily on data modeling within a modern lakehouse environment, with an emphasis on scalability, performance, governance, and data integrity.
The position combines deep technical expertise with close collaboration across business and engineering teams.
You will define modeling standards, develop canonical data models, and translate complex business requirements into effective data structures.
Working alongside data engineers and stakeholders, you will help optimize data architecture and strengthen enterprise data management practices.
The role provides exposure to modern cloud data technologies, including Delta Lake, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure-based platforms.

Accountabilities
- Design and develop enterprise data models supporting business intelligence, analytics, operational reporting, and other data-driven use cases.
- Define and implement data modeling best practices within a modern lakehouse environment, ensuring models effectively support business requirements.
- Architect scalable and performant data structures using methodologies such as Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Data Vault.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytical, reporting, and operational requirements and translate them into logical and physical data models.
- Work closely with data engineering teams to translate logical models into optimized physical models within Delta Lake and cloud-based data platforms.
- Define and maintain canonical data models for key business domains to promote consistency and interoperability across the organization.
- Develop and strengthen data governance practices covering metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and data stewardship.
- Guide ETL and ELT strategies to support data integrity, scalability, and performance within lakehouse and Medallion Architecture environments.
- Establish, document, and promote enterprise data modeling standards across engineering and data teams.
- Review and optimize existing data models to improve performance, maintainability, scalability, and alignment with business needs.
- Advise technical teams and stakeholders on appropriate data modeling tools, methodologies, and data management solutions.
- Support the continuous improvement of enterprise data management practices and contribute to strategic data architecture initiatives.
- 7+ years of professional experience in data architecture, data modeling, database design, or closely related disciplines.
- Strong expertise in data modeling methodologies, including dimensional modeling, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, relational modeling, and Data Vault.
- Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases, including SQL, NoSQL, and Delta Lake architectures.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lake, and Medallion Architecture.
- Experience designing enterprise data models for analytics, reporting, business intelligence, and operational use cases.
- Advanced SQL skills for data modeling, query optimization, data analysis, and data validation.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes and data integration strategies.
- Understanding of cloud-based data architectures, preferably within Azure environments, including Azure Data Lake, Synapse, or Databricks.
- Strong understanding of data management concepts such as metadata, data lineage, data quality, governance, and stewardship.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical and scalable data models.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business leaders.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently while managing complex data initiatives.
- Experience implementing Data Vault is preferred.
- Familiarity with data governance and management platforms such as Alation, Collibra, Atlan, or similar tools is an advantage.
- Knowledge of KQL for querying data logs in Azure environments is a plus.
- Experience with graph data modeling and NoSQL technologies such as Cosmos DB is beneficial.
- Exposure to machine learning feature stores and analytical model design is advantageous.
- Familiarity with BI platforms such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
- 12-month contract with potential for extension.
