2807 - Associate, Business Intelligence - Manchester

Role Summary and Impact

As a Business Intelligence Associate, you will be joining the Wavemaker team within WPP Media’s Data, Technology and Analytics team.

You will work with the Measure data platform – a unified system for data connection, ingestion, transformation, and reporting – built on a robust technology stack including Adverity, GCP, and PowerBI. In this role, you will support client projects that aggregate diverse data sources into a single, unified view, helping to ensure data integrity and consistency to enable comprehensive insights. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will focus on understanding specific client requirements and learning to develop visualisations that deliver on them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of bespoke data solutions within the BI team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality business intelligence and data visualisations.
  • Collaborate with planning teams and senior BI colleagues to help translate business specifications into technical requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring data integrity and consistency by executing queries and validating the accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Help develop and maintain dashboarding solutions using Power BI, including basic troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Develop a strong foundational understanding of digital advertising and ad serving technology (e.g., ad serving, vendor ad servers, web analytics, attribution).

Essential

  • Foundational experience or academic project work involving bringing disparate datasets together in data visualisations.
  • Hands-on experience or coursework working with Power BI.
  • A basic understanding of data modelling, data integrity challenges, and general best practices.
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Desirable

  • Basic exposure to Cloud platforms: GCP (preferred) or others.
  • Familiarity with using SQL to query, analyse, or transform data.
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing and/or web analytics data.
  • Exposure to DBT (Data Build Tool).
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Jira or Confluence.
  • Exposure to working in a technical team that uses Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of version control tools like GitHub/GitLab.
